What SiteOS does and where to start

Understand what SiteOS does and choose the services your website needs.

Last updated

SiteOS is a workspace for running a website: receiving form submissions, adding site search, managing consent, measuring traffic, monitoring important journeys, and improving search visibility. You can work in the application or use an AI agent with the SiteOS plugin, remote MCP and CLI.

Choose your first step

Use this guide to choose your first step in SiteOS. Review your website's saved reports, connect a service, or set up your AI agent. Your Project keeps the work together, with separate settings and data for each environment.

Already invited? Sign in and choose your Project. New to SiteOS? Request access. Access is by invitation during early access. You can use the application or work from your repository with the SiteOS plugin.

One project for your website

A Project represents a website or product. It brings its services together under one name and gives each environment its own website address. An Organization is the team that owns projects and controls access.

Start with the services you need. Creating a project in the application connects SEO/GEO and prepares a first site audit and AI visibility reports; other services stay off until you set them up. Creating a project never installs scripts on your website. Production and Staging have separate service configurations and data; see Projects and environments.

Choose a service

  • Pulse checks pages and browser journeys on a schedule and in pull requests, and collects errors, logs, traces and masked session replays.
  • Forms receives submissions from your own forms and gives your team an inbox.
  • Search indexes your content so visitors can find answers on your website.
  • Cookie presents consent choices and connects them to the services you configure.
  • Analytics measures website traffic, events and conversions.
  • Trace helps investigate tracking behavior, missing events and unexpected changes.
  • SEO/GEO checks technical discoverability and researches visibility in search engines and AI answers.

SiteOS works with websites on any host. To see how it fits next to tools you may already use, such as Vercel, Google Analytics or Semrush, browse the SiteOS comparisons.

Start with one outcome

For example, connect a contact form and verify that a submission reaches the inbox. Then add monitoring for the journey and an Analytics event for a successful submission. Each service has its own setup and verification.

For a website change, a short check path looks like this:

  1. Review saved SEO/GEO findings and Opportunities, then choose the change.
  2. Copy a repair brief, so your coding agent prepares the change in your repository for your team to review.
  3. Publish the approved change and recheck the published pages in Site Audit.
  4. Let Pulse confirm that important pages and journeys still work, on the pull request and after release, with errors, traces and replays when something breaks. Use Trace to spot missing events or unexpected tracking changes.

Set up each service for each environment you use: Production and Staging keep their own checks and data.

Install the plugin to work from your repository: your agent reads audit evidence and saved reports and prepares changes for your review. You can also open the SiteOS application. Use AI & MCP to understand what the agent can read and change, including the SEO/GEO panel available in hosts that support MCP Apps.
